In June 2008, WORTwelt became the first translation agency in Regensburg to be awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certificate by DEKRA Certification GmbH. "It was a hard-fought road to get to where we are”, said managing director Sabine Dillinger during the official handover of the certificate, "but we do not compromise on the quality of our services, we set the bar very high. Our primary concern is to ensure that our customers are satisfied”.
The employees of the WORTwelt agency also had another special reason to celebrate on account of another premiere: "We are delighted that WORTwelt is the first and so far only translation agency anywhere in the world to have undergone the intensive verification process and to have been audited by DEKRA Certification GmbH”, said DEKRA sales manager Thomas Schiller in handing over the certificate at the company’s offices on Prüfeninger Straße in Regensburg. Norbert Hartl, a Regensburg city councillor representing the SPD party, was also present at the ceremony to hand over the certificate and he congratulated the WORTwelt team on the successful audit.
In the commercial sector in particular, it is absolutely essential to act professionally in meeting the requirements of cross-border alliances. "Being able to trust a reliable partner is very important when it comes to translations”, says Sabine Dillinger, "as one wrong word can jeopardise entire business relationships”. This is why over the last few years WORTwelt has developed a quality management system by examining and optimising every single step in the working process. All services have been defined in a binding format and they are subject to a continuous auditing process – most recently that of the ISO certification.
The ISO 9001:2008 standard was initially developed as a quality standard for the manufacturing industry, but in recent times it has increasingly expanded to cover the service sector as well. In addition to internal inspection systems and performance analyses, external monitoring audits conducted every year ensure that the quality standard remains high at all times.
